Library Services and Materials

We have a broad range of non-fiction and fiction titles for everyone.

Parents!  Come check out our Children’s Learning Station, a non-Internet computer loaded with terrific educational games for ages 3-8  Your child can safely play and learn math, social studies, writing, drawing, and more.  In our Children’s Room.

Adult

Our adult department includes non-fiction and reference in a wide variety of subject areas, as well as popular and classic fiction, including western, adventure and romance titles.

Children and Young Adult

We have books and magazines for every age from babies and children through young adults.

Music/Movies

Our audiovisual section includes educational and entertainment titles in several formats including books-on-tape, music CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes.

Large-Print

We also have a selection of large-print materials for our patrons who prefer a larger print.

Magazines and Periodicals

We subscribe to 30 different magazines covering a wide variety of topics, including news, hobbies, crafts, cooking, home decorating, history, etc. We also have bound editions of the Wanatah Mirror, Wanatah’s newspaper for many years.

Community Room

The Library’s Community Room seats 20 and is available for use by groups during library hours and in limited use after hours. Please call the Library at (219) 733-9303 for details.

How to get a library card

Wanatah Public Library serves all residents of Cass Township. We are a reciprocal library so individuals from outside Cass Township are also welcome to apply for a library card with us.

Those wishing to obtain a library card with the Wanatah Library simply need to stop by the library and fill out a form. A photo ID is also necessary.

Internet computers for public use

The library has 4 internet-ready computers available for use by the public. Simply sign up at the desk. If other patrons are waiting to use the computer, there is a time limit of 15 minutes per patron.

Copy and Fax Services

The library offers a fax service at 50 cents per page (both outgoing and incoming). Printed color copies are 25 cents each. Copies are $.10 each for black and white and $.25 each for color.  Document scanning is also available at 10 cents per page.

Display Spaces

The library has space available for the display of collections of general interest or local history. Please talk to the Library Director for more information.
