Donations of Materials

As a rule, the Library accepts donations of printed, audio and visual materials for its collection if those materials are current in date of issue, style, accuracy, needed to build the Library’s collection of classics, or current or recent bestsellers and award winners.  We reserve the right to decline materials for the collection due to issues of space and need.  We may pass unneeded donated materials to other area organizations to help them serve under served populations, and may offer unneeded items to the public for cash donations to help fund Library operations.

Internet computers for public use

The library has 4 internet-ready computers available for use by the public. Simply sign up at the desk. If other patrons are waiting to use the computer, there is a time limit of 15 minutes per patron.

Community Room

The Library has a small Community Room available for use by groups during library hours. Please call the Library at (219) 733-9303 for details.

Pets and Service Animals

Trained service and therapy animals are welcome in the Library.  We conform to the definitions of what constitutes a service animal as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA — USDOJ 2010) and Indiana Code 2016.  As much as we love them (and we do), pets of all types are not allowed in the Library.  (May 2016)

How to Volunteer

We welcome volunteers to help with sorting, organizing, cleaning, etc. If you are interested, please stop by during library hours to talk to the Director.
